![]() ![]() In general, a remote PHP Code Sniffer or Mess Detector is configured similarly to a local one. In PhpStorm 9, which is scheduled for release later this month, so-called remote development (when your development environment is not local) becomes a reality, with support for PHP Code Sniffer and Mess Detector via remote PHP interpreters. Other developers can then launch an identical machine by running the 'up' vagrant command. It allows you to share a development virtual machine by sharing a simple script. Vagrant is a handy tool natively integrated in PhpStorm and designed to help you create reproducible development environments. To specify a different folder, click and choose the relevant folder in the dialog that opens. For remote hosts, PhpStorm by default suggests the /usr/bin/php location. In the PHP interpreter path field, specify the location of the PHP executable file in accordance with the configuration of the selected remote development environment. On this page, specify a new configuration of settings to connect and authenticate to a remote server. The page opens if you have selected the Add new remote server option on the Create New Project: Specify Remote Server page. This works more efficiently than libnotify and faster than vagrant auto rsync. It allows monitoring code and sync the files that need to be changed with a remote server. It also seems to properly delete files that have been deleted from the project, so it's a real sync, not just "upload". PhpStorm can also be configured to deploy changes that occurred outside (it seems to do so as soon as it regains focus). Automatically, every time a file is updated, or before starting a debugging session, or during a commit to your version control system. PhpStorm provides the following main ways to upload project files and folders to deployment servers: Manually, at any time through a menu command. In the Server Group Default Configuration section of the Configure Server Group default page select the existing instance from the dropdown menu. In the Select pane of the Server Groups page, click the Server Group Name hyperlink in the Server Group Name row. To configure the default configuration settings for a server group: In the What do you want to do now? section of the Management Console, click the Server Groups link.
